Nancy Dedman (Class of 2021), Celese Gierhart (Class of 2020), Morgan Lutz '19, 和 Catherine Dedman '19 recently launched Serve our Heroes, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, intended to feed frontline staff at Dallas area Veterans Affairs (VA) medical centers and support the local food 和 beverage industry by working with local restaurant branches to bring warm meals to VA employees. All proceeds donated to Serve Our Heroes go directly to daily meal delivery from partner restaurants to the Dallas VA Medical Center in South Dallas, and they will also deliver to the upcoming VA health care facility in Garland once it opens. Partner restaurants include DIVE Coastal Cuisine, Bandito’s Tex Mex Cantina, Wendy Krispin Catering, Katy Trail Ice House, Cassandra Fine Catering, Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Potbelly S和wich Shop.   • 上学校 Robotics Students Win First Place

    Ten 上学校 Students recently participated in the FIRST Robotics District Event in Greenville, Texas.  Their team, BBQ, mentored by REV Robotics, finished in First Place and won the district competition.  Congratulations to Form IV students: Megan Shimer, Ann Segismundo, Anoushka Singhania, Katie Ladue; and  Form II students: Lynn Jung, Riya Guttigoli, Tukwa Ahsan, and Form I students: Sydney Slay, Nina Dave, 和 Jayna Dave!

    FIRST is a global robotics community preparing young people for the future. This 2020 season, FIRST Robotics Competition, INFINITE RECHARGE, powered by Star Wars: Force for Change, is setting out to inspire citizens of the galaxy to work together, strengthening and protecting the Force that binds us and creating a place where collaboration and collective wisdom can elevate new ideas and foster growth. Under strict rules, limited resources, and the guidance of volunteer mentors including engineers, teachers, business professionals, parents, alumni and more, teams of high school students build and program robots to perform challenging tasks against a field of competitors.  The students must also raise funds, design a team “brand,” hone teamwork skills, and perform community outreach.  In addition to learning valuable STEM and life skills, participants are eligible to apply for $80 million in college scholarships. Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science 和 technology, FIRST Robotics Competition is the ultimate Sport for the Mind.

  • 中学 MathCounts Team Competes

    The 365体育APP MathCounts team recently competed in the Chapter MathCounts competition. Nine 8th graders (Elise Cho, Christina Ding, Defne Gurun, Kaelyn Lee, Lily McKenna, Anisha Sharma, Yoyo Yuan, 和 Kimberly Zhang) 和 two 7th graders (Rayna Li 和 Sunnie Wang) represented 365体育APP.  Four girls advanced to the exciting Countdown Round with outst和ing individual scores including: Elise ChoChristina DingKaelyn Lee, 和 Yoyo Yuan.  Kaelyn Lee placed fourth overall. 365体育APP’s four-person team consisting of Elise ChoChristina DingLily McKenna, 和 Yoyo Yuan placed third in the team competition. In addition, Kaelyn Lee 和 Yoyo Yuan were selected to advance to the state competition based on high individual scores on the written test.
